The Horse Theory is an "Alternative Rock Band," with hints of Funk, Improvisational Jam-Rock, Reggae, Latin, Blues, Jazz, and experimental elements mixed into our original, powerful, and compelling sets. Our sound derives from artists such as Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, and numerous other influences. Our vibe can be far-out or spacey at times, and we have been known to combine songs into extensive overtures of rhythmic bliss. However, the color of a song can change in the blink of an eye, to brash, driving leads and straight up Rock N' Roll.
Pinpointing a band's tone isn't always the easiest thing to describe; sometimes it's simpler to just listen to the music. With so many influences coming together as one, our songs undoubtedly vary drastically in genre. Our newest ones, which have yet to be professionally recorded, have been interpreted as "stemming from the soil of what was before, and blooming, evolving, into space." Essentially, our writing, playing, recording, and production methods are always progressing, and we are always trying out new techniques with what we have available to us.
